Nassau police said a man who went missing on Monday was seen riding his bicycle on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow sometime after 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
Keith Siegel, 47, who detectives said has a "diminished mental capacity," has not been seen since he left his Russell Gardens group home on Monday morning. Siegel is described as a white male, 5'7", between 185- and 200-pounds, with brown eyes, short, gray wavy hair with a medium build. He was last seen on his bicycle wearing glasses and a blue bicycle helmet.
Siegel is known to frequent fast food establishments and diners, and requires medication, police said. Before he was spotted in East Meadow on Wednesday, police said he was seen at Belmont Racetrack in Elmont earlier that day, sometime between 2 and 3 p.m.
Siegel's group home is located on Melbourne Road in Russell Gardens, a village in northwestern Nassau at the border of Queens, and is more than 12 miles from Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow.
On Friday, police released new information that Siegel may have also been seen on Northern Boulevard in the Great Neck or Flushing area
