Nearly 1,000 students attended Molly College’s 2012 commencement ceremony on the evening of May 21 to receive their bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as advanced certificates.

Dr. Mark Emmert, president of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, spoke at the commencement, which was held at the Nassau Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum.

Molloy’s valedictorian, Gregory Lubrano, and its salutatorian, Caroline Lynch, also spoke earlier in the week at the hooding ceremony to the 680 bachelor’s candidates, 290 master’s candidates and the eight students receiving advanced certificates.

On May 18, Molloy officials dedicated the school’s first residence hall, which opened last August, and officially named it after Sister Janet Fitzgerald, the college’s president emerita. Nearly 200 people attended that event.
