A man was hit by a train and killed at Rockville Centre’s Long Island Rail Road station on June 8, according to MTA police.
At 9:14 a.m., the man, who police identified as Andreas Kahan, 41, of Rockville Centre, was hit by the 8:33 a.m. local train from Penn Station, en route to Babylon, according to MTA Spokesman Aaron Donovan. Kahan was transported to South Nassau Communities Hospital with severe injuries, and was pronounced dead.
Police are investigating what the man was doing on the tracks.
The Rockville Centre Police Department also responded to the call, but did not offer further details.
