"I would like to make what I hope is a full and complete thank-you to village staff and department heads and personnel," Mulry said. "I tried to communicate this as much as possible during my time as a trustee to the residents about how much value we have here in Rockville Centre with our village employees."
She thanked all of the village's department heads, including Village Administrator Frank Quigley, Comptroller Michael Shussheim, recently retired Village Engineer Steve Kritsas and Police Commissioner Jack McKeon, among others.
Mulry also thanked her husband, Kevin, and her daughter, Rosemary. "One great thing about Kevin ... is he enjoys hearing about the village," she said. "And I would come home from meetings at 10:30, 11, and he'd always be willing to make me an omelet and sit at our counter and hear about everything that's going on."
Mulry went on to thank the people she met and the friends she made in her four years as village trustee. And although she will no longer sit next to the mayor, she made it clear that she would not be fading away. "I will continue to be involved in issues in Rockville Centre," she said. "It's something that I have a deep love for.
"Thank you, everyone, for giving me this opportunity to say goodbye for now," she added. "I'll see you the next time I'm sitting out in the green chairs."
