Mustaches for Kids returns to Long Beach

Group to launch fundraising event for Sloan Kettering Pediatric Cancer Care Center

Posted

The Long Beach Mustaches for Kids crew is returning this year to raise money for Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Pediatric Cancer Care Center. Mustaches for Kids is a volunteer-run, national organization that supports children with cancer, and volunteers grow mustaches in order to generate donations for children’s charities. The Long Beach chapter’s month-long event will kick off this Friday at Sutton Place, at 124 W. Park Ave., with a “shave day” from 5-9 p.m., where volunteers let the mustache growth begin. Registration materials, T-shirts and buttons will be provided ($10 donation). Throughout the month, the group holds a number of fundraisers and events around the city, and volunteers wear buttons that read “Ask me about my mustache” as a way to engage the public about their fundraising efforts. Those who cannot make it to Friday’s event can still participate by sending a photo of your clean-shaven face, name and email address to vinnyleis@gmail.com. For more information, visit www.m4kli.com.
