North Bellmore Superintendent of Schools Dominic Mucci congratulated the teachers who exhibited their mini-grant projects. They were:
Saw Mill Road School's fifth-grade teacher Anne Ahmed and school library media specialist Sharon Roccoforte for their collaborative project "Hands On History".
Park Avenue School's third-grade teachers Kathy Panchyn, Anne Griffin, Marie Byrne, special education teacher Gina Holland and art teacher Jill Williams for their collaborative "Homes Around the World" project.
Teacher Center Director Eileen Ward announced a mini-grant writing workshop and distributed applications for next year's mini-grants. She said the center's policy board at its January meeting would consider the funding of future mini-grants.
Copies of funded grants are kept on file at the Teacher Center to share with other teachers to spark new ideas.
The North Bellmore Teacher Center provides professional development courses and serves as a resource to teachers within and outside the district.
