³The last couple of months has been an epiphany,² Pollitt said. ³From February to May, I was never home, and I was out most of Saturday and Sunday. I think it¹s about time that I spend more time with my family.²
Dominic Mucci, the North Bellmore superintendent, said he was sad to hear Pollitt¹s announcement, but wished him the best. ³I will certainly miss his expertise in school finance,² Mucci said.
Marie Testa, the Jacob Gunther Elementary School principal, added, ³I¹m thrilled that he will spend more time with his family. He was a great asset to the district, and we will miss him dearly.²
Pollitt¹s resignation will take effect Dec. 3, and according to Mary Oporto, the North Bellmore board president, the district is currently accepting application letters for the vacant position. The board will announce Pollitt¹s successor after a thorough application process.
