Nassau County Legislator Seth Koslow, a Democrat who represents parts of Freeport, Merrick and Bellmore, officially launched his campaign for Nassau County Executive today, pledging to bring accountability, affordability, and responsible governance back to Nassau County. Koslow aims to end the misuse of public funds and focus on policies that benefit Nassau County residents, not political agendas.

“This administration has broken their promises and failed Nassau residents,” Koslow said. “Nassau County families are being squeezed while their tax dollars are wasted on frivolous lawsuits, inflated salaries, and self-serving political promotions. I’m running to restore trust, eliminate waste, and make our county more affordable for everyone.”

Koslow’s priorities include making Nassau County affordable by lowering property taxes and implementing fiscally responsible policies to ease the burden on residents; eliminating waste by ending unnecessary legal battles and reducing oversized administrative expenses to ensure public funds are used effectively; introducing accountability measures to ensure every dollar is spent with residents’ best interests in mind; and strengthening communities by investing in essential services, infrastructure, law enforcement, and education to improve the quality of life across Nassau County.

“This is an important moment for Nassau County," Jay Jacobs, the New York state and Nassau County Democratic Committee chairman said. "We need a leader that will put families first, fight for fiscal responsibility, and work tirelessly to keep our communities safe. Seth Koslow has the integrity and vision to lead Nassau County out of the current administration’s incompetence. He understands what it takes to make government work for the people, not the politicians. I am confident that Seth will deliver the leadership our residents deserve.”

Koslow’s campaign seeks to end the Blakeman administration’s "reckless fiscal practices" and redirect resources to where they are most needed. This wasteful spending, the campaign said in Jan. 8 press release, has left residents footing the bill while vital services remain underfunded. Koslow’s campaign aims to end this culture of mismanagement.

“Nassau County taxpayers deserve better,” Koslow said. “As county executive, I will ensure every decision reflects the priorities of the people. We will prioritize our residents and ensure that every dollar is spent wisely. It’s time to build a government that works for everyone, not just the politically connected.”
