Nassau Reading Council Winners at Gotham

Personal narratives written by Gotham Avenue School kindergarteners Ravenne Gregory and Antonio Negron were selected as winners in the Nassau Reading Council’s 2015 Young Authors’ Contest.

The Young Authors Contest invites students in grades K-12 to submit personal narratives in either prose or poetry format to be judged on content, authenticity, voice, focus, organization and mechanics. The contest encourages writing in the classroom and aims to celebrate the writer and their writing. It also provides students an opportunity to have their work viewed by a larger audience through the publication of the winning entries in the Nassau Reading Council’s Young Authors’ Contest book.

Gregory and Negron will be honored during an awards ceremony at the Wilbur Arts Center at Molloy College on June 1.
