Health & Human Services one-stop 'relief to recovery' center to open at Farmingdale state College through L.I. VOAD Tuesday, Nov. 6 to Saturday, Nov. 10. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WHAT:
In an extraordinary Long Island joint effort among several major social service and non-profit agencies and other organizations through LI VOAD (Voluntary Organization Assisting in Disaster), a brand new initiative called Health & Human Services One Stop Relief to Recovery will offer critical services and items all in one location to help victims of Hurricane Sandy. Visitors will have access to food, water, blankets, financial and legal advice, mental health care, Internet capabilities and other services. Mini vans will make pick-ups for residents on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at the following locations:
· Gemelli’s parking lot on Montauk Highway in Babylon, 10:00-10:15 a.m., 11:30-11:45 a.m., 1:00-1:15 p.m.
· Amityville High School in Amityville, 10:00-10:15 a.m., 11:30-11:45 a.m., 1:00-1:15 p.m.
