New Teachers

Board members, principals and district administrators were all on hand to greet the new educators.
Many of them arrived fresh from colleges and universities, while others came with a wealth of instructional experience. All are ready to teach when the first school bell sounds on Sept. 4.
“In Elmont we are committed to our children’s education,” Harper told the group who were selected from hundreds of applications. “Failure is not an option and excellence is mandatory. Teaching is one of the most challenging and most rewarding things you can do in your life. If I didn’t think you’d be completely dedicated to our children you wouldn’t be here.”
Alden Terrace School welcomes Carolyn Alas, Joan Farrell, Katherine Hock, Debra Kinsley and Kara Tloczkowski. New to the Clara H. Carlson School are Lynsie Bilka, Michelle DelloRusso, Elisa Giangrande, Daniel Gutierrez, Corinne Kudel, Chad Myers and Shawnée Warfield.
Sandra Bretton, Tricia Cammaroto, Dana Muenckler, Lori O’Leary and Sharanpreet Sokhey have joined the Covert Avenue School faculty with Jessica Belsham and Susan Sapek now on board at the Dutch Broadway School.
Gotham Avenue School welcomes Joseph Bahm, Marc Rolla, Mary Snellinger, Jillian Verdecchia, Sharon Williams and Jacqueline Hanson. Stewart Manor’s new teachers are Andrea Ciminelli, William Duerr, Joan McLean and Melissa O’Brien. Lisa McMullen will split between the Clara H. Carlson and Dutch Broadway Schools.
