A couple of dozen Rockville Centre residents, mostly aligned to one party or the other, showed up for the first candidate forum of the 2001 village election season and if they were hoping for fireworks, they were surely disappointed.
Each of the six candidates stayed focused on getting across what makes them worthy of election instead of handing out barbs to their opponents during the openning statements.
Concerned Citizen candidates iare Mary Bossart, Gregory Rinn and Patrick Lagudi. Home Rule is running Fran Murray, Vivian Lewandowski and Jack Matthews.
The first questions posed on yellow cards turned in by residents asked what ideas the candidates had for keeping the tax rate down. To keep the forum moving, each party was asked to have one spokesperson per question.
