Nor’easter blankets Rockville Centre in snow and minor power outages

When Nor’easter Athena blew through the region the evening of Nov. 7, it not only slowed the work being done to recover from Hurricane Sandy, but caused new power outages and downed trees and power lines. When Athena blanketed the village in snow, Rockville Centre Spokesman Jeffery Kluewer said, thousands of residents were affected by outages, though most lasted only about 10 minutes and a majority of residents had power again by the end of Thursday.
