This new outpatient facility brings together the full-depth and breadth of surgeons from both hospitals, combining their
divisions of general surgery and vascular surgery. Totaling 17,600 square feet, the new center was built at a cost of about $2.5 million. The building is now home to 12 permanent North Shore-LIJ faculty members and 18 visiting physicians from various multi-disciplinary services.
In addition to the divisions of general and vascular surgery, the building is home to eight other programs: the Section of Breast Surgery, the Bariatric Surgery Program, the Section of Laparoscopy/Minimally Invasive Surgery, the North Shore-LIJ Vein Center, the North Shore-LIJ Vascular Access Program, the Non-Invasive Vascular Laboratory, the North Shore-LIJ Hernia Center and the North Shore-LIJ Comprehensive Wound Care Center. The Wound Care Center, the first of its kind for the two flagship hospitals of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, is a state-of-the art center that offers a comprehensive outpatient wound treatment and management program with a multi-disciplinary approach to wound healing.
