Nurses at Mount Sinai South Nassau hospital in Oceanside unveil 'message board of hope' to spread positivity

Though the coronavirus has been grim for New Yorkers, nurses at Mount Sinai South Nassau hospital are spreading positivity with their "message board of hope."

Nurses Teresa Ebehart, Angelica Hoyos and Christine Doud hand-crafted the board, which displays the number of Covid-19-positive patients that have been discharged from the hospital, and how many coronavirus patients have been successfully taken off ventilators at the facility

As each patient is discharged from MSSN, "Here Comes the Sun" is played as the board is updated. Each time a patient is taken off of a ventilator, the staff plays "Breath."

The hospital recently shared a photo of the three nurses standing by the board, which denoted that 321 coronavirus patients had been released from the hospital, while 21 had been taken off ventilators. The practice was put in place to spread a positive message during the pandemic.
