James P. Drohan Sr.
East Rockaway


James P. Drohan Sr. died on December 4. Drohan was born on July 21, 1926 and was married to Ruth (Albrecht) for 63 years. He was the father of James Jr. (Janet) and Diane, and the grandfather of John, Aileen, Dylan, Thomas, Catherine, James and Magdalene. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion No. 958 in East Rockaway.

Visitation was held at Perry Funeral Home, Lynbrook, on Tuesday. A funeral Mass was held at St. Raymond’s on Wednesday. He was laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn.


Joseph Levinson

Lynbrook

Joseph Levinson, of Lynbrook, died on November 17. He was 92.
Levinson was a WWII Army veteran, the husband of Lorraine for 60 years. He was a longtime member of Congregation Beth David.
He is survived by his sons Michael (Barbara) and Richard (Felicia), and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Bert and Sid,


Iris Zavatto
East Rockaway

 Iris Zavatto, of East Rockaway, died on Oct. 14 after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late John and Theresa Zavatto, and sister of Phyllis Vilardi of East Rockaway; Frank, of Fresno, CA., and Michael of Shelter Island. She was the aunt of 11 nieces and nephews, and six great-nieces and nephews, and one great-grandnephew. She was retired from Unisys/Sperry Corp. as executive senior secretary. She was the president of AARP No. 3365, Lynbrook, and a member of the Senior Center of East Rockaway, and of St. Raymond’s Sodality. Visitation was at Perry Funeral Home in Lynbrook.
