Grand Marshal William Waldinger stood among the 200 flags of the Oceanside High School Field of Honor during the community’s Memorial Day Parade on Monday. Waldinger was a 1965 OHS graduate and went straight into the Air Force after graduation, serving until 1969. He has been a member of the American Legion for 35 years.

LCPL Ryan Timoney of the Marine Corps, a 2011 Oceanside High School graduate, attended the Memorial Day Services on Monday. He will soon be stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
Oceanside held its annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, and residents came out on the beautiful day to cheer for and thank all of the community's veterans.
Led by Grand Marshal William Waldinger, the parade began in front of Towers Funeral Home and wound through the streets of Oceanside, ending in front of Oceanside High School and the newly erected 200-flag Field of Honor — the perfect backdrop for the veterans and the celebration in their honor.
