Each year, the Long Island Arts Alliance’s Scholar-Artist Awards program recognizes students who excel academically and in areas of either music, visual arts, dance, theatre or media arts. Students are invited to attend an end-of-the year reception to be held at the Tiles Center for the Performing Arts on the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island, where they will be presented with a monetary award. This year, Oceanside High School had two Scholar Artist recipients and one Award of Merit recipient.
High School orchestra student Erick Celedonio was selected as a Scholar Artist in the area of Music; High School theatre student Austin Fowler was selected as a Scholar Artist in the area of theatre; and high school art student – Kylie Corwin was selected as an award of merit winner in the area of art.
