Polar Bear Adventure

Defensive Driving Course

"October 16"
The Nassau Community College Black History Month Committee will be presenting a screening of "October 16," a short film by Keith Robinson, on Feb. 25 at 12:30 p.m. in the College Center Building. The movie is about an up-and-coming songwriter trying to deal with the approaching anniversary of his brother's death in Iraq. The film was selected for Black Entertainment Television's Best Short Films showcase. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the filmmaker. The event is free and open to the public. The Nassau Community College Black History Month Committee will be hosting actress and model Yaya Dacosta, known for her appearance on the third season of America's Next Top Model, as she performs "Preservation: of Self, of Culture, of Earth"
on Feb. 26 at 11:30 a.m. in the College Center Building. Since her appearance on television, DaCosta, who studied international relations and African studies at Brown University, has secured a contract with the Ford Model Agency and has gone back to acting. Feb. 26: Look Into My Crystal Ball- Join psychic medium Karen as she entertains with stories and explains the history of this interesting subject. Purim Ball Benefit
Join the JCC on March 7 at 7 p.m. for their Purim Ball Benefit. They will be honoring individuals from the area who made contributions to the community.
