Officer DeLuca joins Rockville Centre police force

Rockville Centre’s newest police officer, Nicholas DeLuca, was sworn in by Police Commissioner Charles Gennario at the village board meeting on Monday night.

DeLuca finished first in his recruit class in Westchester County and is currently undergoing the field training portion of his training. He will serve as a replacement for one of two village officers who suffered career-ending injuries.

The Astoria native who grew up in Farmingdale has four sisters. He is a twin and his younger sister, Krystle DeLuca, is a police officer with Nassau County in the 4th Precinct and is based out of Oceanside. 

  DeLuca, who studied Computer Engineering and Computer Information Science at Polytechnic University and Hofstra University, is working towards a Bachelor’s Degree. He has obtained many certifications in network engineering and had worked as a Microsoft Certified System Engineer and website developer for the past 10 years, including being published for his work with search engine optimization.

He has also been teaching, training and competing in multiple disciplines of the martial arts for a number of years. 

  DeLuca and his wife Stacey, whom he met in 1989 through his involvement in martial arts, have two daughters, Emilia who is 3½ and Angelina who is 1½.
