Oceanside High School students Mara Stewart, Noah Engel, Abigail Buckley, Christian Savarese, Fiona Gargiulo and Alan Khaykin have been named Commended Merit Scholars in the National Merit Scholarship competition. The students’ recognition was based on their performance on the Pre-SAT exam taken last year, also known as the Pre-SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). As Commended Scholars, their scores are in the top 5% of all 1.4 million students taking the exam.
