Baldwin Public Library board meeting to be held on Wednesday, July 13 at 7 p.m. at the library.
Chamber of Commerce will not hold monthly meetings for the duration of the summer. Board members will continue to meet, however, and report to chamber members.
Fire District meetings are held at the Baldwin Fire District Headquarters, 2386 Grand Avenue, on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 6 p.m.
Sanitary District No. 2 holds monthly meetings at the district offices at 2080 Grand Ave., on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 5 p.m.

Riverboat ride. The Baldwin Library is hosting a summer afternoon trip to Connecticut on Tuesday, July 26. The event will begin with lunch on the waterfront at Dock 'n Dine and continue to step back in time with views of the Connecticut River from a seat aboard an antique steam train, followed by a paddlewheel riverboat cruise. $73 tickets are non-refundable and include lunch. First Church Baldwin, United Methodist, 881 Merrick Rd., will host a concert by the students of the New World Music Center as a means to gather food for families in need, on Sunday, June 26 at 2 p.m. Bring a non-perishable food item. Folk art series at the Long Island Children's Museum will highlight the passing of musical traditions among generations. This year's family folk arts series features a variety of artists practicing their rich cultural traditions. All performances are free with museum admission. A celebration of the Caribbean Islands, featuring Theo Torres, will take place on Saturday, June 26 at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. As a master composer and performer of Peruvian music, Torres and his ensemble, Vientos del Sur, will showcase a wide variety of music styles common to our south. Torres and son Charlie play salsa, techno cumbia, Peruvian música criolla, Mexican rancheras and Dominican bachatas. All activities will be held at the Long Island Children's Museum, 11 Davis Ave. in Garden City. Museum admission is $8 for adults and children older than one, and $7 for seniors. Call 224-5800.
Annual picnic. The Baldwin Chamber of Commerce will host their annual picnic on Sunday, July 17 at Baldwin Park. Free food, live entertainment and activities for children round out the day's events. The picnic will be held behind the tennis courts, rain or shine, from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free to Baldwin residents only, and food is available while quantities last. Lacrosse clinics held at Baldwin Park. Space is still available for lacrosse clinics held July 18-21 at Baldwin Park, 3232 South Grand Ave. The clinic is open to boys and girls, ages 7 to 15. Days runs from 9 a.m. until noon. The clinics are open to town residents only, $60 per child, discounted rate of $45 for each additional family member. Broadway series. Plaza Theatrical Productions, Inc, 3535 Lawson Blvd. in Oceanside, have released their 2005-2006 Broadway series. From July 29 through August 28, Plaza will present an exciting, fast-paced musical revue celebrating the words and music of Jerry Herman who wrote some of Broadway's greatest shows including, "Hello Dolly!," "Mame," "Milk and Honey," and "La Cage Aux Folles." Library days. Thirty books are delivered monthly and dispersed every Monday and Friday of the month at 10 a.m. for those seniors in the community who have a hard time getting to and from the library.
Painting classes are held every Monday at 10 a.m.
Lunch special. A hot lunch is served every Monday and Friday for $2 at noon.
Bingo is played on every Monday afternoon at 12:45 p.m.
Arts and Crafts class is held every Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Line dancing classes are held every Friday at 10 a.m.
Day trips to Lido Beach will start on Wednesday, June 29. The bus leaves the center at 10 a.m. every Wednesday during July and August. The return bus leaves Lido at 3 p.m.

Senior High School Commencement will be held at the high school, 841 Ethel Kloberg Dr. on Sunday, June 26 at 2 p.m.
Ten-year reunion for the Baldwin High School class of 1995 on August 6.
