Trek for a cure The 2nd Annual Long Beach Relay for Life will be held from May 31 to June 1 on VeteransÕ Field at the Long Beach Middle School. Registration is $20. Diabetes education classes The Diabetes Education Center at Long Beach Medical Center will host its next series of diabetes education classes on June 3, 4 and 10 at Long Beach Medical Center. Golf fundraiser The Long Beach Medical Center will host its annual Martin Sperling Memorial Golf Classic on June 16 at the Middle Bay Country Club on Skillman Avenue in Oceanside. The event, which raises funds to support patient care services at the Medical Center, offers golfers a day of golf, a hearty brunch, skills contests and putting competitions and a lavish cocktail hour, dinner and awards ceremony. Non-golfers can enjoy a fast-paced tennis tournament or day of cards, followed by the evening's festivities. Historical house tour The Long Beach Historical Society Annual House Tour is set for June 8. The cost for this docent-guided Long Beach history bus tour, with interior visits to selected homes, is $25 for members, $30 for non-members. Participants are welcomed to the Historical Museum at the conclusion of the tour. Call 432-1192 for reservations and information. The first bus leaves City Hall at 9 a.m. with subsequent tours starting every other 45 minutes until 1 p.m. The tour is approximately two hours long.

Memorial 5K fun run The Rec Dept. will be host the 4th Annual Sean Ryan Memorial 5K Family Fun Run on June 27 at 6 p.m. This race is in memory of Sean Ryan, an irreplaceable member of the Long Beach Community and the Long Beach Police Department, and will begin and end the the Rec Center.
