Fire District meetings The regular meetings of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Baldwin Fire District will be held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m. at Fire District Headquarters, 2386 Grand Ave.
Sanitary District No. 2 Regular board meetings are held on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 5 p.m. at 2080 Grand Ave.
Kiwanis Club meetings are held weekly at the Coral House, 70 Milburn Ave., on Tuesdays at 7 p.m.
Rotary Club meetings are held weekly at the Coral House, 70 Milburn Ave., on Thursdays at 12:15 p.m.
South Hempstead Civic Association meets every second Wednesday of the month at the So. Hempstead Fire Dept., 555 May St., at 8 p.m. For more information, call 236-8211.
Baldwin Public Library Board of Trustees meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. The meetings are open to the community. Library hours are as follows: October to June: Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.- 9 p.m. Saturday from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. July to Labor Day, summer hours: Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Fridays 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Baldwin Chamber of Commerce will host the Evening Networking Meeting on June 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Wander Inn, located at 2880 Grand Ave in Baldwin. Networking and buffet dinner. Job-hunting is a stressful activity. To help ease the stress, the Baldwin Public Library is pleased to provide free, one-on-one career counseling to Nassau County residents. This service is available to unemployed people, as well as those looking to change jobs or career direction. Both day and evening hours are available.
