Village Green Concert, Wil be held on Thursday June 22. the Rockville Centre Concert Band will perform from 7:30 p.m.- 9:30 p.m. at the Village Green on Maple Avenue. In case of rain the concert will be held at the RVC Recreation Cener at 111 North Oceanside Road.
Annual Fireworks Celebration, Will be held on Saturday July 8th ( Raindate July 9th) at the Village of Rockville Centre's Centennial Park at the corner of South Park and Chester Street. The village will celebrate its 113th birthday with a concert by the South Shore Symphony at 7:30 and fireworks by Grucci at approximately 9 p.m.
Music together- Music and movement for children ages newborn through 5-years-old and the grown-ups who love them are invited to participate in the joy of family music at St. Marks United Methodist church. Rockville Centre Chapter of Homemakers, meets at the John A. Anderson Recreation Center on Oceanside Rd. The group is all about cooking, knitting, sewing, crafts, trips, community service and friendships and meets every Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. For more information, call 516-766-1620.

The furniture exchange, is an organization that coordinates the donation of used (but in good condition) furniture and other household items with less fortunate families that are in need of those items. Currently they are in need of the following items: 8 twin beds with frame and mattress, 1 bunk bed with frame and mattress, 2 full or queen beds with frame and mattress, 1 cot, 2 couches, 5 dressers, 1 kitchen table set, end tables, and lamps. Rockville Centre Historical Society: Phillips House, invites one and all to enjoy the village's historic house and its memorabilia. The current exhibit is of the 1964-1965 World's Fair and will be on display through the end of June.The house is located at 28 Hempstead Ave., and is open Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. or by appointment for groups. Scholarship available - The Confide Counseling Center is pleased to announce it's seventh Annual Lloyd Smallwood Jr. Scholarship competition. The center is offering a $500 scholarship to a high school senior living in RVC who has been or anticipates being accepted into college. The student must submit an essay demonstrating his/her concerns regarding the drug abuse problem in our society. Parkinson support group - We offer weekly physical exercise, discussion groups, professional work

Men's Breast Cancer Support Group - The Adelphi New York Satewide Breast Cancer program is offering a support group for men with breast cancer. Participants will have the opportunity to get together and discuss their special concerns. The group will meet at Adelphi University at 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. starting June 21. Summer playground registration - Open for the Rec Center's 52nd consecutive Summer program. The program will be held from June 28 through August 10 from 9 a.m. until noon at three sites: The Rec Center, Covert school, and Hewitt School. Residents of RVC or those who attend RVC schools in grades 1-6 are eligible to register. The fee is $300 per person. Tennis courts open - Har-trucourts adjacent to the rec. center are open from 8:00 a.m. until dusk seven days per week. Admission is by valid recreation card plus court fee.
Aerobic Exercise - Aerobics classes are offered by Nancy's Aerobics on Mon., Tues. and Thurs. evenings at 7 p.m. Classes are on-going and can be paid for daily. Classes are conducted in the rec. center gym in air-conditioned comfort.
31st annual baseball season - is open to boys ages 6-13. It will be conducted from June 26 to July 7. bob Hirschfield Head Coach of NY Tech is the co-ordinator. Classes will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Barasch Field. $305 fee per person for RVC residents.
Girls Basketball - for girls in grades 3-10. Will be offered Aug. 14-18. from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the rec. center. Fee TBA.
Shooting Star Lacrosse Camp - for boys ages 7-17 will be offered June 26-30 at the dean skelos Sports Complex from 9 a.m-1 p.m. fee TBA.
Calling all finger painters - The Rockville Centre Recreation Department has begun registration for the 2006-2007 nursery school year. Registration will continue throughout the year, until all classes are filled. Classes are offered for children entering kindergarten in September 2007 or 2008. Drop-in bereavement group - Thursdays at the JCC a 10-week drop-in Bereavement Group. The group will meet 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. The program is for those who have experienced a recent loss. Sophisticated singles - For ages 35-55, every Monday, 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. at the Friedberg JCC, 15 Neil Court in Oceanside.
