Once again waters rise

Another Nor’easter brings another flood. In the 2 years since Sandy residents have seen little improvement in drainage in Island Park or Oceanside. The Dec. 9 storm brought havoc to recently repaired homes and businesses, closed Long Beach Road from Warwick Road south to the train tracks, and sent residents out to clean storm drains and down to pump out basements and crawl spaces. Nassau County Legislator Denise Ford was touring the area and said the flooding frightened her. Once again she is contacting Senator Dean Skelos, and representatives of Governor Cuomo’s office to try and find out why, after all this time, and with all the monies the federal government set aside for Sandy relief, so very little has been done.
