Online farmers market expands Valley Stream hours

Posted

Customers of OurHarvest, the company that delivers online orders of locally harvested food in the parking lot behind Church of the Blessed Sacrament on Wednesdays, have another pickup day to choose from, the company announced this week.

Pickup is now available on Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m., in addition to the regular 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. pickup on Wednesdays.

“We’ve expanded our pickup dates here in Valley Stream to accommodate higher demand,” said a statement from Michael Winik, who founded the company with Scott Reich in 2014.

OurHarvest added its Valley Stream location last March. It also has locations in East Meadow, Plainview, New Hyde Park, Roslyn, Port Washington, Huntington, Garden City and Flushing, Queens.

In addition to offering locally produced food for sale, the company donates food to pantries in the communities where it operates. For every order over $25, OurHarvest donates one meal to the Blessed Sacrament food pantry.

The menu is growing, according to Reich, and currently includes fresh meat, seafood, produce, dairy, desserts and pantry items. For more information, visit www.ourharvest.com.
