Out of This World Event for Cub Scout Pack 31at Hofstra Observatory

Cub Scouts (L-R Top) Nick Rayzak, Ronan Doyle, Liam Mullooly, TJ Egan, (L-R Bottom) Danny Walsh, Jack Doyle and Colin Grace visited the Hofstra Observatory on March 2, 2012. The boys, all from Cub Scout Pack 31 were part of a large group of Cubs that enjoyed a presentation about the universe from Hofstra's resident astronomer, Donald Lubowich. Mr. Lubowich showed the boys where the Earth was in relation to the entire universe, and even linked in to a telescope in Spain for the boys to watch during the presentation. Afterwards, all the Cubs went to the roof of the Observatory to see the actual telescopes at the University. Unfortunately, it was quite overcast, so the boys were unable to do any stargazing that night. Mr. Lubowich invited the boys and their families to return to Hofstra for any of their Stars on Sundays programs during the year.
