Lynbrook’s 8th annual Fly with the Owls 4-Mile Run/Walk and Half-Mile Fun was held last Saturday, Nov. 17 under cool, sunny skies.

The Fun Run started at 8 a.m., and the Run/Walk at 8:30 a.m. The proceeds from last year’s run supported many youth organizations and activities in the School District and the Village of Lynbrook, including the Middle School Triathlon Mentoring Program, Post-Prom Breakfast, scholarships, sports programs, civic and volunteer organizations and drug and alcohol awareness initiatives.

“It was a great turnout,” said Race Director Cathy Papandrew. “We had about 600 finishers, and we’ll be making a donation back to the community for disaster relief, as well as the other programs and events that we support.”

This year’s Platinum sponsors were Astoria Federal Savings, Herald Newspapers, Frazer & Felman, LLP, Runner’s Stop, Wade Electric and Peal Performance. For a list of other sponsors, race results and more photos, visit www.flywiththeowls.com
