Wilmes brings 30 years of experience in the fields of substance-abuse prevention and early intervention. He is the author of numerous books, curricula and articles, including the best-selling "Parenting for Prevention," with more than 250,000 copies sold.
Wilmes has also been featured as a prevention expert in numerous national media outlets, including USA Today, CBS Morning News and ABC's Good Morning America.
He now sits on the Minnesota Youth intervention Programs Association, and he is director of St. Paul Youth Services in St. Paul, Minn.
Wilmes earned his master's in human development from St. Mary's University in Minnesota and his bachelor's from Metro State University, also in Minnesota.
