Hope Cohen, 12, Maggie Clerici, 10, and Isabela Burke, 9, demonstrated their baton-twirling skills at the 52nd annual Baton Exhibition at Oceanside Middle School last Saturday.
The Oceanside Department of Community Activities held their 52nd annual Baton Exhibition at Oceanside Middle School on April 17. The event, co-sponsored by the Oceanside American Legion Post #1246, is held every year as a showcase for children to demonstrate what they have learned about twirling. Elizabeth Wasek, who volunteers with the girls each week, performed a solo, while dancers from the DOCA Saturday program high-stepped to Hannah Montana. This year's theme was "country fun" and the girls' costumes reflected a cowgirl look.
