The Lynbrook Police Department is investigating an incident of a trespasser who reportedly peered into a young girl’s window in early February.
According to a Facebook post written by the mother of the girl, the man tapped on the window at around 10 p.m. She said a similar incident happened in July, at which time police told her they’d received nine other calls from homeowners describing the same event.
“We called the cops and [my daughter] gave them a good description this time, because the sicko stared right at her when she looked out her window,” the post reads. “It’s like he wanted her to see him.”
The woman described the man as being white with brown hair, between the ages of 18 and 25, about 5-foot-10, and wearing a red and black sweatshirt. The woman wrote that the description matched that of a man police arrested in July on a drug possession charge, and that police told her they would keep an eye on him.
“It’s not being ignored,” according to Lynbrook Police Department Inspector Ronald Fleury, who said detectives are aware of the incident and the Facebook posting.
