Police said the burglary occurred on Aug. 21 at 2 a.m. After two officers responded to a radio assignment for a possible burglary at AJ's Gourmet Deli on West Seaman Avenue in Baldwin, the officers found Stephon Hollis, 19, of 70 Marina Rd. in Island Park, jumping over a fence in the rear of deli, police said.
The officers apprehended Hollis, and he was arrested after a brief investigation, police said.
First Squad detectives later arrested Jennifer Beehary, 21, of 98 Weberfield Ave. in Freeport, and Carlos Gonzalez, 19, of 58 E. Pine Street in Long Beach, after a further investigation into the incident.
Although there were no injuries, the manager of the deli, who did not give her name, said that the suspects broke open a window to get into the store, and that there were a number of items stolen from deli.
"The police arrested three people, and I believe they still have the items that they stole," she said.
All three suspects were charged with 3rd degree burglary and were arraigned in the First District Court in Hempstead on Aug. 22.
