A Long Beach man who was hit with a felony DWI charge in 2009 was arrested on Wednesday after police said he was driving on the Meadowbrook Parkway without an alcohol interlock device and while in possession of marijuana.
State police reported that at 7:32 p.m., a state trooper stopped a black Mercedes for speeding as it traveled north on the Meadowbrook Parkway near Merrick Road.
According to police, the state trooper, when speaking with the driver, Domenico Kull, 24, of Broadway in Long Beach, smelled a marijuana odor coming from the vehicle. Police said the trooper conducted an investigation, and found that Kull was in possession of a small amount of marijuana.
Further investigation revealed that Kull had a revoked drivers license, and was driving without an alcohol interlock device in the vehicle, police said.
Kull was charged with using a vehicle without an interlock device, aggravated unlicensed operation, unlawful possession of marijuana and several traffic violations. Kull has been charged with DWI offenses in the past, a spokesman for Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice said.
On Jan. 30, 2009, Kull plead guilty to first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and DWI, and was sentenced to 10 months in Nassau County jail. A spokesman for Rice said that Kull’s latest offense was on Dec. 27, 2009, when he was arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and felony DWI. That case is currently open.
Kull is scheduled to be arraigned in Nassau County First District Court on April 21 at 9:00 a.m.
