Police: Man burglarized Merrick Japanese restaurant

Nassau County police detectives are on the lookout for a man who allegedly broke into the Suki Hibachi restaurant on Merrick Avenue early on Friday.

According to 1st Squad detectives, an unknown man forced open a rear window and entered the restaurant at around 2 a.m. He was caught on surveillance camera.

The man made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, according to police, who described him as a white male in his 40s, five-foot, ten inches, with a medium build. He was wearing a red T-shirt, khaki shorts, dark sneakers and a hat, police said.
