Long Beach police arrested a suspect wanted in the armed robbery of a Chinese food deliveryman whom he allegedly beat during a “violent” incident in October.

Antonio Webb, 18, of Long Beach, was arrested on Nov. 20 at the 7-Eleven on Long Beach Boulevard after a police officer on patrol observed Webb enter the store around 11:30 p.m.

Webb was wanted by the Long Beach Police Department for questioning in the armed robbery that occurred on Sycamore Court on Oct. 21, in which police said he repeatedly pistol-whipped a Chinese restaurant deliveryman.

At the 7-Eleven, Long Beach Police arrested Webb and found him in possession of fully loaded illegal semi-automatic handgun. Police said he was arrested without incident and no one was injured. Webb was charged with second and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Webb was also charged in the Oct. 21 incident. Police said that around 10 p.m., a man making a delivery for a Chinese restaurant received no answer at an address on Sycamore Court. When the deliveryman returned to his car, police said he was “shocked and surprised” by Webb, who had concealed himself in the rear passenger seat of the car.

Police said Webb put a gun to the victim’s head and demanded money. But because the deliveryman was not fluent in English, police said he could not understand what Webb was requesting.

Police said Webb then repeatedly pistol whipped the man, stole his money and fled. Webb was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree criminal use of a firearm and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
