Robert Davidson, 49, of 26 Jerusalem Avenue was arrested at the Baldwin LIRR station on Sunrise Highway after police said he robbed and fled the Bank of America at 2300 Grand Avenue.
Police said Davidson entered the bank at 12:48 p.m. and approached the teller. He allegedly proceeded to hand the woman a robbery note and made a verbal demand for money. The teller complied and gave the suspect an unspecified amount of cash.
Police said Davidson fled the scene, walking north on Grand Avenue toward the train station. Two police officers observed Davidson, police said, and placed him under arrest.
Ironically, last week's robbery comes on the heels of an arrest of a New Cassel man on Feb. 28 for attempting to rob the same bank in 2005. Police said Keith McAllister was the fourth man arrested in connection with that incident.
Davidson was charged with third degree bank robbery and was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on March 10.
