Four men forced their way into a home on Kildare Road in Island Park at about 10:40 p.m. on Nov. 16, according to Nassau County police.

When a 25-year-old woman opened the side door of the home, police said, four men, all dressed in black, wearing black masks and armed with guns, forced their way in. The woman attempted to run up the stairs, but was struck on the head with a gun.

A 17-year-old male was forced to the floor by the men and struck several times on the head with a gun, according to police. One of the men went through the victim’s pocket and took his cell phone.

The men broke down a bedroom door and found another woman, 29, and a 6-year-old boy, police said. They struck the boy once in the head with a gun.

After ransacking the home, police reported, the men fled on foot with two rings and a cell phone. A police ambulance transported the 25-year-old female victim, who had abrasions on her head and wrists, to a local hospital for evaluation. The other victims refused medical attention.

At a village board meeting on Nov. 17, a police officer told residents that detectives were nearly certain that the home was targeted. The NCPD confirmed that, as of press time, no arrests had been made, despite reports from other news sources.

Detectives ask anyone with information about the crime to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
