Beautiful Kids is a special kind of store. Explains Shapiro, "There's a uniqueness to the store and there's an exclusivity to the way the store is put together. The way we put the outfits together is different from other stores."
Gold stars for the look and feel of the store are doled out to Rene, Shapiro's wife, and Stacy Simens, who are the principle owners. Rene and Stacy are the ones who go into the market and pick out the products to buy for Beautiful Kids. "The way the both of them buy add to the uniqueness of the store," says Shapiro.
Some of the brands they carry include Lili Gau Frette, Hardtail and Miniman. But Beautiful Kids doesn't have basics for infants anymore, only for older children. They have layettes for pregnant women, which are pretty much all the one-piece outfits, blankets and other paraphernalia stored up like acorns in preparation for the newborn's arrival.
Items range from $15 and up.
As for the customer service, Shapiro says, "We have the best sales help out of any of the children's stores in the entire area. We go the extra mile to make sure customers are taken care of. We know your kids, so we can size them up even without being here [at the store]. This is our major strength."
There's also a unique toy selection, made up of old-fashioned toys and puzzles.
Beautiful Kids is open Mon. to Sat., 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sun., 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments available.
