Oscar Hernandez Romero, 22, was arrested and charged with statutory rape at his home in Jamaica, Queens, five days after police said he took the teenage girl to the motel on Long Beach Road to have sex.
According to detectives at Nassau County's Fourth Precinct, Romero drove from Jamaica with the girl, who lives "within the vicintity of Jamaica," to the Oceanside Motel, rented a room, and engaged in sexual activity with her there. "He didn't use any force to get her to the motel or while there, but being that the victim is under the age of consent he is guilty of statutory rape," Det. Sgt. John Azzata told the Herald.
Romero and the teenage girl were together again on two other occasions, on Aug. 14 and 15, at an undisclosed location outside Nassau County, Azzata added.
Detectives said Romero is aqcuainted with the teenage girl and her family. When the victim told her father about her sexual activities with Romero, the father notified police.
"I don't know why the subject and his victim chose to go to the Oceanside Motel," Azzata said.
