Racist graffiti found at park

The 7th Precinct's Problem Oriented Policing unit is investigating the graffiti as a bias crime.
Andrew Pane, the Boy Scout who led a group of his peers in painting the pump house as his Eagle Scout service project, was disappointed that his good work was despoiled within days. "I was shocked," said Pane, 18. "I didn't know how they found out so quickly that we had repainted it."
Pane and Troop 134 out of Stuart Manor also picked up garbage and repaired trails that vandals had damaged at Mill Pond. All told, the project required 18 people and 121 hours of work to complete.
