Ann Marie Reardon was re-elected to the Lynbrook Board of Trustees on March 15, after receiving 412 yes votes.
“I think it’s really important to keep Lynbrook the best place to live, work, and raise a family,” Reardon said.
Although she ran unopposed, she said she was pleased with the turnout. “I think that it’s important that many people did come out to vote,” she said. Reardon said the focus of the village government would continue to be on the revitalization of the downtown area, and promoting prosperity.
Reardon was appointed to the Lynbrook village board last year, filling a vacancy left by the departure of Trustee Thomas Atkinson. Most recently, Reardon has acted as the village’s school liaison, which she said promotes a good relationship between government and the youth.
“I just feel like it’s important to get kids to understand, and get kids involved,” Reardon said. “I like to see what they think about where they live. I think sometimes kids are the best tellers.” Reardon is hosting an art contest and exhibit for elementary school students in Greis Park on April 3.

East Rockaway

Steven Fried ran unopposed in East Rockaway, receiving 436 votes. He was appointed to the village board last year to fill the vacancy left by Bruno Romano’s election to mayor.
“Thank you to the hundreds of neighbors who came out to vote in the village election,” said Fried in a statement. “I’m proud to have earned their overwhelming support.Working hand-in-hand with Mayor Bruno Romano and the entire village board, we continue to keep taxes low while putting forth stellar programs and governmental services. It’s exciting to have won [the] election to continue moving East Rockaway forward for our middle-class families and seniors.”

“Trustee Fried is an important member of the Village Board where he works each and every day to help me keep taxes low, provide outstanding services and programs while doing more with less,” said Romano.
