Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with the Hispanic Brotherhood
The Hispanic Brotherhood of Rockville Centre has a suggestion on how to spend the evening of May 5 — at its 26th annual Scholarship Dinner at Temple B’nai Sholom, 100 Hempstead Ave.
The scholarship fund enables the agency to provide financial support to students graduating to higher education. During these hard economic times, when money is rapidly disappearing for its youth programs, monies from the fundraiser are also used by the non-profit agency to fund its After School Tutorial Program. This year the honorees will be: Verizon Communications, Dr. Neil Kirschen and Patricia Kirschen, Dr. Lidia Epel, past Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce President Larry Siegel and Rev. Msgr. Robert Brennan, vicar general for the Diocese of Rockville Centre. There will also be a special presentation to Reinaldo Martinez. Cocktails start at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7. The donation is $110 per person. For further information, call (516) 766-6610.
