The executive board of the Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce has a new look this year as Margarita Fox of Mercy Medical Center takes over as president, Paul Cronin of State Bank of Long Island becomes vice president; Scott McGrath from Community National Bank will serve as treasurer and Coach Realtor’s Barbara Goldfeder steps in as secretary.

“It’s a great group of people,” said outgoing President Larry Siegel, who remains on the chamber’s executive board as immediate past president. “I’ve been president for a long time. I was very lucky that I had plenty of time to do it. So it’s like anything else, there’s going to be change. It was time for a change. I’ll still be active and we’ll go through this together. The chamber is a group organization and when people work together they can achieve their goals. I’m confident that the president and the board of directors will take the reins and move the organization forward.”

During my tenure as president of the Rockville Centre chamber,” said its new president, Margarita Fox, “I would like to encourage participation from more of the businesses that directly impact the community.

“We have great representation on the chamber from business as it exists,” Fox added, “but I would like to hear more about the expectations of the community.

“Our motto is to ‘connect commerce and community,’ and I want to promote that sense of responsibility to provide services that are needed close to home,” she added. “I would also like the residents of Rockville Centre to support the business community because they are providing them with the products and services they need.”
