Mayor Francis Murray and the village board have, over the past three months, acknowledged and commended village developers and business owners who have undertaken substantial renovations to their downtown properties.

At the Feb. 13 board meeting, the mayor and trustees recognized Matthew and Ronald Rettner of Rettmark Realty for their $250,000 renovation to the commercial façades along the west side of South Village Avenue between Lincoln Avenue and Merrick Road, and along the south side of Merrick Road west of South Village.

At the March 5 board meeting, the board recognized

Mark and Martin Trifon, co-owners of Trimar Realty, for their $800,000 renovation to the Self-Storage Center of Rockville Centre at 250 Maple Avenue.

And at the April 3 Board meeting, the Mayor and Board recognized David and Daniel Karp of Karp Automotive for their $680,000 Kia showroom at 372 Sunrise Highway.

For each project, the Mayor read a proclamation thanking the principals for their investments in Rockville Centre and for beautifying and enhancing the Village streetscapes.

“These substantial renovations make Rockville Centre a more desirable destination for visitors and residents alike,” Mayor Murray said.
