Symphony and violin at SSMS

This Saturday, May 22 at 8 p.m. in South Side Middle School’s auditorium, two of the “Big Three B’s” of the musical world will make up what promises to be a memorable South Shore Symphony concert. Beethoven is represented by his Symphony No.4, and Brahms’ Violin Concerto rounds out a program. Brahm’s concerto will be the highlight of the evening because the violin soloist, playing a 1724 Stradivarius, is Rockville Centre’s own Nadya Tichman, the renowned associate concertmaster of the San Francisco Symphony. Tichman, who has played with the SF Orchestra for 30 years, has not performed in our village since she was a student. The turnout should be huge. Order tickets now by calling (516) 616 3610 or purchase them at South Side Middle School, 67 Hillside Ave. on the day of the concert. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and members of the Rockville Centre Guild for the Arts.
