Village Art Club Art demonstration

On Nov. 19 from 7-9 p.m., artist Don Slapo will paint a pastel portrait at the meeting at Rockville Centre Library, 221 N. Village Ave.

Defensive Driving Course

Mercy Medical Center is offering the Empire Safety Council’s Defensive Driving Course on Nov. 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Mercy League Lounge located across from the entrance to the hospital’s Emergency Department. Upon completion of this course, participants are eligible for 10 percent off their motor vehicle insurance for three years and/or a reduction of points from their drivers license. Thanksgiving Day Open House and Free Dinner

On Nov. 26, from 1-5 p.m. The Vineyard Church, 251 Merrick Road, welcomes the community to join them for a complete homemade turkey dinner with all the trimmings and a dessert table. No reservation is required. For more information, call (516) 678-7888 or e-mail vineyard@optonline.net.

RVC Youth Council Bowling night

On Nov. 27 from 10:30 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. the Rockville Centre Youth Council will host a bowling night at Rockville Centre Lanes on Maple Avenue that is open to students from 14 through 19. $6 includes two games, shoes, pizza, soda and dessert. Tickets are available through participating Youth Council members or by contacting Nick Aldana, the bowling night event chairman at n.aldana1991@gmail.com.Tickets will also be available at the door, but advanced purchase is recommended.
