Rockville Centre crews on the scene of another outage

Twenty seven customers on parts of Arrandale and Roxen roads and Kenwood, Tamwood and Briarwood courts lost power on Sunday night for about four hours. A village spokesman said the outage was caused by vines on a pole growing into the wires, shorting out the circuit. The reason it took so long to restore power, the spokesman explained, was that the job included first finding out why the circuit blew, then figuring out where. In this area of the village, circuits are in the backyards of homes. Electric Department workers first had to walk the line, find the shorted circuit, and then fix it. The power was out from about 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
