Arrests
A resident of Combes Avenue, was arrested and charged with criminal contempt on July 25 for violating an order of protection against his neighbor in June.
A resident of N. Village Avenue, was arrested on Aug. 2 and charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a controlled substance after a narcotics investigation.
A resident of Riverside Drive, was arrested on Aug. 6 and charged with menacing, following an investigation at his residence.
Burglaries
A North Forest Avenue resident reported that on Aug. 1, an unknown person entered her apartment and removed $4,000 and jewelry.
The owner of an auto body shop on S. Long Beach Road reported on Aug. 4 that he had seen a man in an office going through file cabinets and later discovered a credit card had been stolen. The card had been used to make several purchases without permission.
Larcenies
A Freeport resident reported on Aug. 1 that someone stole his landscaping equipment, which had been left unattended on Meehan Lane.
On Aug. 2, a resident of Sherman Avenue reported that someone had stolen jewelry and $10 from her unlocked car sometime during the previous day.
On Aug, 2, a North Forest resident reported that someone stole a GPS device from his unlocked car overnight.
On the same day, a Baldwin resident reported that his backpack, which contained debit cards, an MP3 player and personal papers, had been stolen while he was playing soccer at Tighe Field.
On Aug. 4, an employee at TGI Fridays at 716 Sunrise Highway, reported that someone broke the front passenger window of her 2011 Nissan and removed an iPod and GPS.
An Oceanside resident reported the theft on Aug. 5 of her unattended purse from a bench at the Beach House restaurant at 21 S. Park Ave. The purse contained a phone, driver license and credit card. The victim’s bank notified her that the card had already been used at a local hotel.
On Aug. 5, a resident of Lawrence reported that someone had stolen an IPod and a pocket knife, with a total value of $220, from his 2008 VW motor vehicle while it was parked at 37 Clinton Ave. between Aug. 4 through Aug. 5.
