Arrests
A 27-year-old man from South Kensington Avenue, Rockville Centre was arrested on Aug. 8 and charged with five counts of 2nd degree assault after police units responded to a disturbance allegedly caused by the defendant on the street in front of his home earlier that evening. The assault charges are the result of injuries to officers that police said were caused by Rodriguez.
A 36-year-old North Forest Avenue man was arrested on Aug. 8. He was charged with 3rd degree menacing following a fight.
A 25-year-old man from Pinebrook Avenue, Lakeview, was arrested on Aug. 11 and charged with 3rd degree assault following an investigation by police at 324 Merrick Road.
A 31-year-old man from Merrick Road, Rockville Centre was arrested on Aug. 11 and charged with 3rd degree assault following an investigation by police at 324 Merrick Road.
Burglary
On Aug. 13, a resident of Lakeside Drive, Rockville Centre reported that between Aug. 10, and 13, someone damaged a rear window, entered his office at 125 N. Park Ave., and stole a flat screen television and computer equipment.
Larcenies
On Aug. 6, a resident of Buckingham Road, Rockville Centre reported that on Aug. 3, an unknown male stole his iPhone after he had allowed the subject to borrow it to make a phone call while he was outside the Fantasy Theater at 18 N. Park Ave.
On Aug. 7, a 14-year-old South Side High School student reported that his iPod was stolen from his book bag at the school on July 30.
On Aug. 7, a resident of Banks Ave, Rockville Centre reported that his iPad and miscellaneous papers were stolen from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked on Banks Avenue overnight on Aug. 5.
On Aug. 8, a Yale Place, Rockville Centre resident reported the theft of a GPS unit from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in her driveway overnight.
On Aug. 8, a Voorhis Avenue, Rockville Centre resident reported the theft of a Fraternal Order of Police surgeon badge and identification card from his vehicle while it was parked in his driveway overnight.
On Aug. 8, the owner of a North Village Avenue spa reported the theft of facial cleaners by a former employee.
On Aug. 9, an Arbor Lane resident reported that two people stole a portable basketball hoop from in front of his home.
On Aug. 9, a Forestdale Road, Rockville Centre resident reported that someone stole his $400 Trek bicycle from the Rockville Centre Long Island Railroad Station on Front Street.
On Aug. 10, a resident of North Long Beach Road, Rockville Centre reported that between Aug. 8 and 10, someone stole a red specialized mountain bicycle valued at $800 that was secured at the bicycle rack at the Rockville Centre Long Island Railroad Station on Front Street.
On Aug. 10, a resident of Merrick Avenue, Merrick, reported that someone stole one license plate from her 2009 Volvo motor vehicle while it was parked at 371 Merrick Road, Rockville Centre.
On Aug. 10, an owner of the clothing store Extra Butter at 266 Merrick Road, Rockville Centre reported that someone stole Tom brand sunglasses valued at $120 from a shelf in the store.
On Aug. 11, an employee from the Shell Gas Station at 516 Merrick Road, Rockville Centre reported that someone driving a silver Toyota failed to pay for $40 of gasoline.
On Aug. 12, a resident of Green Tree Circle, Westbury, reported that someone stole his wallet that had been left on the counter at Shing Wong Chinese Take Out, at 182 Maple Ave., Rockville Centre. Shortly thereafter he said his debit card was used to make an unauthorized purchase of $20.75 at the 7-11 at 324 Merrick Road, Rockville Centre.
Unusual incidents
On Aug. 9, a South Lewis Place, Rockville Centre resident reported that an unknown person created an online internet banking account in her name without her authorization.
On Aug. 10, a complainant from Gateway, Rockville Centre reported that sometime since April 16, someone filed a tax return with her personal information without authorization.
Forgery
On Aug. 9, a manager from CVS Pharmacy at 598 Merrick Road, Rockville Centre reported that an unknown man forged a doctor’s prescription and illegally obtained Percocet pills.
Criminal mischief
On Aug. 11, an owner of Rapid Realty at 6 S. Village Ave., Rockville Centre reported that between Aug. 10 and 11, someone damaged a storefront window valued at approximately $800.
